CNFUN welcomes researchers to be part of the network, collaborate in research and use the data in new projects.

The application form to request data can be downloaded and submitted to the CNFUN National Coordinator.

All research proposals requesting the use of the CNFUN research database are reviewed by the CNFUN Steering Committee to ensure the feasibility, integrity and appropriateness of the research question with the CNFUN mission and guiding principles.

Steps to request CNFUN data for research purposes (in coordination with CNN/CPTBN Data Request Process):

Step 1: Initial Inquiry

  • Investigator expresses intention on a research question.
  • Email the CNFUN Director for pre-screening the research question before proceeding to step 2.

Step 2: Submit CNFUN Data Request Application

  • Investigator submits a data request application along with the study protocol.

Step 3: Review and Approval

  • Applicant undergoes review and approval by the relevant Committee(s).
  • Typicial timeline: 3-4 weeks.

Step 4: Protocol Revisions

  • Protocol revisions are conducted, if necessary, as advised by the relevant Committee(s).

Step 5: Local REB Approval

  • Investigator obtains local Research Ethics Board (REB) approval.

Step 6: Data Analysis and Release

  • Expected duration: approximately 4-6 weeks, subject to statistician availability during peak periods and local REB approval.
